The name Dan Dan holds a special place in our hearts. It comes from two kanji characters—in Chinese, they symbolize the morning sun and chicken eggs. In Japanese, it translates to “little by little,” a reminder of the steady, consistent growth we aim for at our farm.
The name Dan has been a part of my life since childhood. It was my baby nickname, meaning “rising sun”—a symbol of warmth and new beginnings. But of course, school years brought their own twist, and my friends, with their playful teasing, would mix it up with the idea of chicken eggs.
At our farm, Dan Dan carries the essence of both: the warm, rising morning sun, and the most nutritious, wholesome food—the humble, yet vital chicken egg. For us, these two elements are the foundation of every day. The sun rises, the eggs are collected, and we continue our journey—little by little.
It’s a reminder that, just like the sun rises each day and the eggs are laid, we too are committed to steady, consistent progress in building a farm that nourishes the land, animals, and people.
