At Dan Dan Farm, chickens aren’t just part of the ecosystem—they’re part of the family. They provide us with the most nutritious food nature offers: fresh eggs, full of protein, vitamins, and flavor. But beyond their utility, they bring something even more valuable: happiness.
We have over 50 chickens roaming the property today. At least we think it’s 50. Counting them is nearly impossible. Just when you think you’ve tallied up everyone, one darts off after a worm or disappears under a bush with some top-secret mission only chickens understand.
Every morning brings a new kind of joy—soft clucking, sunlight warming the coop, and the small daily miracle of fresh eggs. One of our favorite moments is watching a guest pick an egg for the first time. Their eyes go wide.
“It’s warm!” they exclaim, holding it like treasure.
Yes—it was just laid, and it’s still pulsing with life.
Even more heart-melting is when our farm-born chicks grow up under the watchful eyes of their mothers. Seeing a hen cluck gently to her little ones as they follow her around in a flurry of fluff and curiosity—it’s a scene that never gets old. It’s pure farm joy.
